adri[án] velázquez

Hola — I’m adri[án] velázquez, an independent photographer with expertise in film and digital photography.

My work has been shaped by years of moving throughout the world, where photography became a way to document stories rooted in human rights, social justice, and politics. I’ve been privileged to meet, learn from and find shared humanity with people from a diversity of backgrounds throughout my career. It’s through these moments of connection that I have informed how I observe, compose and build visual narratives through my photography.

Versatility is at the core of my practice. Self-taught with a keen eye for creativity, I move fluidly between different settings and subjects adapting to each space with precise perspective. Building trust with the people I photograph is imperative to my process — it’s this relationship that allows me to capture not just images, but the essence and movement in front of my lens.

My work spans politics, culture, music, dining and lifestyle, and I operate primarily between the United States and Mexico. I am also available for assignments globally.
